the Meisner Technique

Developed by Sanford Meisner (1905-1997), the Meisner technique was initially created to address the rigidity that theater actors experience after repeated performances. It later became a valuable tool for film and television actors, helping them fully immerse themselves in roles and stay present in the scene.

The Meisner technique emphasizes “living truthfully in the moment” and responding authentically rather than just memorizing lines or performing pre-set emotions. It encourages genuine feeling, being affected by your scene partner, and fully inhabiting the world of the character.

This training also helps actors explore hidden aspects of themselves and understand their emotional triggers—not just as an acting tool but as a way to rediscover themselves. If you want to perform more naturally, give the Meisner technique a try!
